Optimum Grain Silos and Augers

Optimum Engineering Solutions (now Optimum Grain Silos and Augers) was established by Peter Murphy in 1996.

Peter started Optimum after 16 years’ experience as a chartered professional mechanical engineer in the industrial steel, brick manufacturing, structural steel and grain and materials handling sectors. This knowledge has been used to design, manufacture and install the worlds leading grain handling equipment and storage.

Joel Murphy has become a director of Optimum Grain Silos and Augers in 2019. Joel has 15 years’ experience in the agriculture sector, with 10+ years in Agronomy and extensive experience in the pre-fabricated and structural steel shed industry.

Optimum is an Australian owned family business, that prides itself on supplying Australian Made grain storage and handling solutions to the Australian Grain industry.

All equipment designed, manufactured and installed by Optimum is of the highest industrial design, wether it be for a farmer or commercial grain accumulator. Australian growers are investing in storage and handling equipment for 30+ years. Optimum design, manufacture and install equipment and storage to last and to function well.

  • Optimum Heavy-duty unloading augers and sweep augers are designed and manufactured in house in Young NSW. The design is world leading with function, reliability and safety. The unique sweep auger design not only unload all grains efficiently but also is slow moving when not under load. 

  • Optimum only use a solid industrial silo footing with 100mm step up, meaning no water issues and increasing the structural strength of the on-ground silos.

  • All silos have in floor aeration, designed to meet the requirements of the grower.

  • Sealed silos, to Australian Standards, Optimum have 35 years of sealing experience Cyclone silos.

  • All Australian safety standards met:- Ladders, platforms, stairs and doors.

  • Full turn key project options are available including all loading and un-loading:- Road, rail, weigh cells, high volumes, minimum labour requirements.
